Celebrating the Light for Church Leaders

Dear pastors, teachers, worship leaders, and Christmas Eve servants,

I get it. Christmas Eve is a long day. Especially this year. Sunday morning AND Christmas Eve? Who decided that was a good idea?!

If you’re anything like me, Advent comes and Advent goes, and before you know it, it’s Lent. Not much time to just be. Just breathe. Just worship.

But the Light Of The World, Jesus the Christ, the Messiah, the King, the Alpha and Omega, the Eternal One came to Earth. And that. changed. everything.

Christmas is coming. Don’t let it pass by without worshiping the One-Who-Emptied-Self of power, knowledge, and strength in order to be with humanity on earth and to flip the world right-side-up.

You’ll be “on” on Christmas Eve. And sometimes that means we have to find other ways to worship and fill back up. Here’s a Christmas Eve Service from last year. If you need to *not* lead a worship service during your own personal worship time, my prayer is that this will help guide you into awareness of the presence of Light.

Oh Light by The Liturgists
Oh Light – come to reconcile
Come in like a child – Holy Night
Oh Light – our hopes and all our fears
Met within your sight – Holy Night
Hallelujah, God is with us
Hallelujah, a Light has come

Oh Light – God and man entwine
Of Earth and of divine – Holy Night
Oh Light – mending fractured Earth
The soul now felt its worth – Oh, Holy Night
Hallelujah, God is with us
Hallelujah, a Light has come

Hallelujah, Holy God is with us
Love is always born within
Hallelujah, Light will chase and find us
Love is facing us again

Hallelujah, God is with us
Hallelujah, a Light has come
